Toyota land cruiser 1997, 3 litre turbo diesel inspection video

Hello Marco This is a inspection video of the Toyota Land Cruiser 3.0 TD that your are intending to purchase. Mechanically the car is solid, bulletproof almost For a 26 year old vehicle it definitely shows signs of cosmetic damage such as the lacquer peel, sun face and rust. However the rust is very minimal and not enough to constitute structural integrity. From my observation I have no reason ...

      Hello Alex, I believe you’re referring to the disc. On some instances it’s worth jacking up your car and removing the tire. Not always but sometimes on the hub of the disc it will have the sizes engraved. Or alternatively you could measure it. Sites such as eurocarparts aren’t always accurate as they will hold different size discs and pads due to different engine variants and models of the same car. Generally speaking the larger the displacement of your vehicle the bigger the pads and disc. Also if you know your engine code for the vehicle you can verify the size that way. Hope this finds you well

    • @chiragbulsara
      @chiragbulsara 5 месяцев назад

      You must have a piston rewind tool with the correct fitment otherwise you can damage the rubber seal which can cause an ingress of dirt into the calliper.

      @chiragbulsara thanks for the reply, turns out the piston is seized on both read calipers, do you know what I'd need to look for to upgrade to brembos, I have standard pads but the disc is damaged and then caliper needs to be replaced so I might aswell go to brembos now as I planned to anyway at some point. Thanks

    • @chiragbulsara
      @chiragbulsara 4 месяца назад

      @@cianbarriscale751 just to double check your callipers aren’t seized. Loosen the bleed nipple and then try to rewind the calliper, ensure the brake reservoir lid is open also. If both your callipers are seized you’ll have to order replacements preferably from eurocarparts or gsf. Can also try autodoc. Like wise you can get the disc from these sites also. I’d recommend changing pads also to compliment the new disc. You’ll need brake fluid, a pneumatic bleeder. Some decent tools to release the handbrake cable and reattach it. Best of luck

      Yes it matters, you have to correct diameter for the correct pads otherwise you jeopardise braking performance, as the surface area of contact with the pad and disc has to be exact. Having an incorrect diameter will cause uneven wear, it will also be noisy because of the contact.
